According to a report submitted by European security team, Singapore has hardly 1500 cyber security experts.An Activist from Anonymous group has issued a warning to the Singapore government regarding the internet licensing rules 2013. The information security minister Yaacob Ibrahim said that the government is focusing more on the implementation of methods to increase cyber security.

Why to increase cyber security?

Singapore government has recently analysed the European report of the top ten countries with weak cyber security. Ibrahim specifically mentioned some areas where he thought they could increase cyber security. First one was to increase the number of cyber security experts in the country as it was only 1500. A proper security system needs to be developed in government and private sectors. A team who can perform security operations, security engineering and technology needs to be developed. Earlier cyber-attacks in Singapore

Last year a series of attack stunned Singaporean government. James Raj Arokiasamy is facing having more 132 cases registered over him regarding computer misuse offences. A 43-year-old boy was finned USD$6400 because of the reason that he was accessing the website of Istana illegally. Also an 18-year-old boy was probate for 1 year due to the same issue. Due to all these cyber-attacks anonymous group have made a video regarding the scrapping of a law requiring local news new websites to obtain a license from the government.
